Why Your Website Sucks (And How to Fix It)

Your website is probably terrible.

Harsh? Maybe. True? Definitely.

I've looked at hundreds of business websites over the years. Want to know the biggest problem I see?

They're all about you.

"We are the leading provider of..."

"Our company was founded in..."

"We believe in excellence..."

Nobody cares.

Your visitors don't care about your company history. They don't care about your mission statement. They sure as hell don't care about your stock photos of people in suits shaking hands.

They care about one thing: Can you solve their problem?

Last week I visited a plumber's website. Took me 47 seconds to figure out what he actually did. FORTY-SEVEN SECONDS!

His homepage was full of corporate jargon about "fluid solutions" and "comprehensive pipe management systems." You know - that typical AI slop.

Dude. You fix toilets. Just say that.

Here's what your website should do in the first 5 seconds:

1)Tell people exactly what you do

2)Explain how it helps them

3) Show them what to do next

That's it... It's really not rocket science.

Remember - confused visitors don't buy. They leave.

Your website isn't your personal art project. It's a sales machine. Every word, every image, every button should move people closer to buying from you.

If your website is more about you than your customers, you're doing it wrong.

Fix that and watch your leads multiply!
